Our Studio Space

Encore Dance Studio is located in a safe, well-lit, commercial area in Harahan. Retail Shops, restaurants, and coffee houses are within walking distance. We're just a short drive from Kenner, Metairie, and New Orleans.

Encore Dance Studio has just moved to a 3500 square foot facility that provides two professional dance spaces, a waiting / reception area, and a multimedia green-screen room. (Only one dance floor is open for Summer 2010. Construction will complete by the start of classes in September). Safety and injury prevention are very important to us. Our floating dance floor is installed above a raised subfloor that is designed to provide dancers with absorption and resilience. If the floor is not absorbent, the body becomes the shock absorber, resulting in fatigue, pain, and injury. This design also provides a non-slip surface and lateral support.

We offer dance classes in tap, ballet, jazz, and hip hop. But we are not just a dancing school - we offer musical theatre classes with 2 instructors - including acting, singing and dancing. We also offer tumbling classes, adult tap classes, yoga for adults and children, a Mom & Tot class, and a screen acting class.

Encore is also available for rent. Various organizations including theatre groups, dance companies, conventions, and more have rented Encore Dance Studio as a rehearsal space. Call or email for rental rates and availability.

Have your next birthday party at Encore!

• $100 + $10 per ballerina
• 1 instructor / princess ballerina class
• Use of the studio for 2 hours, plus:
• 15 min set up time before start of party
• 15 min breakdown of above
• includes a tutu and sequin tiara for each dancer to take home as a party favor
• You supply balloons, cake, etc...

Our Concert

Parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles rave about our low cost, 90 minute annual concert which features the students... without overpriced costumes, trophies or competitive ad and picture books. But don't confuse inexpensive with low production value. Our concert is a full theatrical experience, both for the performers and the audience.

Our Students

Our students come from all over the Greater New Orleans area, including Harahan, River Ridge, Kenner, Metairie, New Orleans, Lakeview, Uptown, Algiers, Ormond, Destrehan, and Luling.

Dress Code

BALLET & TAP: Black or pink leotard, black or pink tights. Ballet skirt optional. Pink ballet shoes & hair in a bun. Black tap shoes with elastic ties (no bows), older students may wear tie up tap oxfords.

JAZZ & HIP HOP: Black jazz shoes for jazz, black dancesneakers are ok for hip hop. Any color dance attire (dance pants, fitted dance top, leotard, etc.). No T-shirts or shorts. Hair pulled back.

MUSICAL THEATRE: Black jazz shoes. Any color dance attire (dance pants, fitted dance top, leotard, etc.). No T-shirts or shorts. Hair pulled back.

TUMBLING: Leotard, barefeet. Tumbling levels 3 & 4 may wear Encore cheer shorts over leotard. Hair pulled back and secured (clip barretts, no bobby pins please).
